After his military service, Skinner joined the FBI and quickly rose through the ranks. He became a Special Agent in 1973 and was assigned to the X-Files in 1993.

The X-Files

As the Assistant Director in Charge of the X-Files, Skinner was responsible for overseeing the investigation of unexplained phenomena. He worked closely with Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, providing them with support and guidance as they pursued the truth behind the X-Files.
